ADVOCACY & FEDERAL POLICY

What Are We Advocating For?

NCHER is in constant contact with Members of Congress, Senators, and their staffs, advocating for policy that is ultimately in the best interest of students and families. NCHER wants to play a role in envisioning what higher education as well as financial aid policy look like for future generations. As reauthorization of the Higher Education Act becomes a reality, NCHER is focused on a variety of areas intended to improve college education access and success.

NCHER stands ready to assist federal policymakers as they determine what initiatives should be adopted through the upcoming reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, the fiscal year 2020 appropriations process, or through any legislative vehicle to assist students and families in accessing a high-quality postsecondary education.

If you have any questions or if NCHER can provide additional information, please contact James Bergeron, President of NCHER, at jbergeron@ncher.org or (202) 822-2106.
